An Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking for Muslim Students provides a concise, rigorous, skills-oriented training course in basic analytic and inferential thinking of the sort covered in a standard course on that subject, but without the implicit western cultural and anti-religious bias often found in other such textbooks. It presents critical thinking and the life of the mind as an integral part of Muslim life and culture, drawing for exemplars on the historical Islamic intellectual tradition, alongside others, and as well as some specific problems confronting the thinking Muslim today, in a context where Islamic values regarding truth and the purpose and ethics of debate are made explicit and taken as a given.
