The International Foundation for Muslim Theology (IFMT) is preparing the launch of a new English translation of the Risale-i Nur with a clear aim: to secure the meaning and authorial intent of the original while presenting it in English that is genuinely readable for today’s reader. This is not a project of “simplification.” Rather, it is a commitment to clarity and precision—expressing the depth, nuance, and spiritual force of the text in natural English prose. Because the Risale-i Nur’s Ottoman Turkish style often uses long, multi-layered sentences that do not always carry smoothly into modern English, our translation carefully reshapes such passages—without losing meaning—so that the argument remains coherent, accessible, and easier to navigate, insha’Allah.
Under the lead translation of Dr. Colin Turner, and following a thorough editorial process by IFMT’s Editorial Board, the four main volumes—The Words, The Letters, The Rays, and The Flashes—have now been translated and edited. We are now moving into the publication phase, and a short interest form is available below for those who would like to register their interest in purchasing the volumes once they are published.
